Unable to get emails to AOL addresses

It is the experience of Argon Hosting as well as our respective datacenters that AOL does not notify mail administrators in advance of a black listing.

Because of the volume of email that AOL users receive, AOL has made it increasingly easy for users to report something as spam, regardless of the validity of the complaint. Because these complaints can result in black listing of the sending IP, AOL has instituted several methods of contacting them directly to resolve the issue. However, they currently do not provide any warning that an IP is going to be listed or that it has already been listed. The only way to know if an IP has been black listed is to attempt to send email to an AOL user and then notice the resulting bounce back message.

If you are having difficulty sending mail to an AOL account, please create a support ticket and paste the bounced email in that ticket so that we may contact AOL to resolve the issue. We are currently discussing with AOL, an advanced warning notification system, but we have been notified by AOL that at this time they are not interested in changing their current system.
